The role

The Accounts Manager owns the accuracy and integrity of the dealership's books of accounts, statutory compliance and financial reporting at the location. This role is the bridge between day-to-day transaction recording and the management information the CFO and leadership rely on to run the business, so it carries direct responsibility for ensuring that revenue, cost, receivables and payables are correctly captured and reconciled every month. The Accounts Manager also supervises the Accounts Executives at the location, ensuring the team's work meets internal-control and audit standards while supporting timely decision-making for sales, service and inventory functions.

Responsibilities

  • 01Supervise day-to-day accounting entries, ledger scrutiny and month-end closing
  • 02Ensure timely and accurate bank, cash and stock reconciliation
  • 03Oversee vehicle, spares and service invoicing and ensure correct revenue recognition
  • 04Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS and other statutory returns
  • 05Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors for audits and closures
  • 06Ensure adherence to OEM and company financial policies and floor-plan/funding terms
  • 07Prepare monthly MIS, profitability and cash-flow reports for management
  • 08Monitor receivables and payables and flag ageing exceptions proactively
  • 09Support budgeting and variance analysis for the location
  • 10Supervise and guide the Accounts Executive(s) at the location
  • 11Ensure adherence to company financial policies and internal controls
  • 12Identify training needs and mentor the accounts team on process and compliance updates

Requirements

  • 01Education: B.Com / M.Com; CA-Inter or equivalent preferred.
  • 02Experience: 8-10 years in accounts/finance, preferably in an automobile dealership or retail environment.
  • 03Working knowledge of Tally/ERP, GST, TDS and other statutory compliances
  • 04MIS reporting, bank reconciliation and inventory/stock accounting
  • 05Team supervision and internal-controls orientation
  • 06Working knowledge of dealer management systems (DMS) for vehicle, spares and service billing
  • 07Advanced MS Excel for MIS and variance analysis
