Handles daily cash and digital collections and maintains accurate cash records.
The role
The Cashier handles daily cash and digital-payment collections at the outlet, ensuring every transaction is recorded accurately and reconciled at the end of each day, so the business has a clean and trustworthy record of money coming in.
Responsibilities
- Collect and record cash/digital payments from customers against invoices
- Maintain the daily cash book and deposit collections as per company procedure
- Reconcile daily collections with the Accountant/CFO and report any discrepancies immediately
- Maintain receipts and supporting documents for all transactions
Requirements
- Education: Graduate in any discipline (Commerce preferred).
- Experience: 1-3 years in a cashier/collections role, preferably in automobile retail.
- Cash handling and daily reconciliation
- Basic accounting/billing software usage
- Attention to detail and integrity in handling money
