Final Inspector

Performs the final quality check on new and serviced vehicles before they are handed over to the customer.

The role

The Final Inspector is the last quality checkpoint before a vehicle reaches the customer, whether it is a new vehicle prepared for delivery or a customer vehicle returning from service or repair. The role exists to protect the dealership's and Škoda's reputation for build quality, safety and finish by catching any mechanical, electrical, cosmetic or documentation gap before the vehicle leaves the workshop. The Final Inspector works closely with the workshop team, Service Advisors and the Delivery team to ensure every vehicle handed over meets the manufacturer's pre-delivery inspection (PDI) standard and the dealership's own quality benchmarks, directly influencing customer satisfaction and warranty/comeback rates.

Responsibilities

  • 01Conduct PDI of all new vehicles prior to delivery as per the company checklist
  • 02Carry out the final quality check of vehicles after service/repair before handover to the customer
  • 03Verify fitment of accessories and cleanliness/detailing standards
  • 04Inspect engine bay, underbody, electricals and safety systems for leaks, loose fittings or damage before sign-off
  • 05Conduct a short road test where required to confirm ride, braking and steering behaviour
  • 06Maintain inspection records and checklists for every vehicle inspected
  • 07Report recurring defects or quality issues to the Workshop Manager
  • 08Coordinate with technicians for rectification of flagged issues before re-inspection
  • 09Prepare a periodic summary of defect trends and comeback patterns for management review
  • 10Ensure all inspections comply with Škoda's quality and safety standards
  • 11Escalate any safety-critical defect immediately and hold delivery until rectified
  • 12Support internal and OEM quality audits with accurate inspection records
  • 13Coordinate with the Delivery Incharge to confirm accessory fitment and cleaning standards before delivery is scheduled
  • 14Liaise with the Service Advisor on any customer-reported concern that needs re-verification before release
  • 15Recommend process or checklist improvements based on recurring quality issues
  • 16Participate in OEM-led quality/PDI training programs as required

Requirements

  • 01Education: ITI / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 02Experience: 3-5 years in an automobile workshop, including at least 1-2 years in a quality-check / inspection role.
  • 03Sound knowledge of Škoda vehicle systems and pre-delivery inspection (PDI) checklists
  • 04Ability to identify mechanical, electrical and cosmetic defects, including under-body and engine-bay checks
  • 05Working knowledge of OEM warranty norms and quality-audit standards
  • 06High attention to detail and basic documentation/DMS recording skills
  • 07Understanding of torque specifications, fluid levels and safety-critical checks
  • 08Physically able to carry out under-vehicle, engine-bay and road-test checks
